These were a Christmas gift for my 13 year old son. I can't attest to detailed sound quality, but he loved how they looked and sounded. Unfortunately for us my wife left them on the couch and our dog chewed up the cord. It is not replaceable, but if you send them back to Skullcandy for any reason not under warranty they will give you a coupon for 50% off your next purchase, in case something like this happens to you :)
